Rascal Flatts Tickets - An 'Unstoppable' Deal with JCPenney

by Brent Warnken

If life is a highway, Rascal Flatts wants to ride it all night long in JCPenney attire, that is! Contemporary country music's hottest male trio has been touring the country avidly as part of their Bob That Head tour this winter, and now Gary LeVox, Jay DeMarcus and Joe Don Rooney have unveiled their newest venture, set to follow in the wake of their upcoming album Unstoppable, which is scheduled for release in April 2009. Rascal Flatts has announced a summer tour to commence on June 5 promoting Unstoppable, but that's not all the trio will be promoting. Rascal Flatts has recently struck a deal with department store chain JCPenney, and the country crooners will spend the summer supporting Penney's American Living clothing brand, naming their summer tour the Rascal Flatts American Living Unstoppable Tour.

Aside from naming their tour after the JCPenney merchandise line and featuring an American Living spread on the outside of their tour bus, LeVox, DeMarcus and Rooney will also don American Living clothing attire during their performances, and the trio plans on starring in American Living commercials as part of the sponsorship as well. Rascal Flatts even took their JCPenney deal one step further, recording a song titled "American Living" to be sold in a special version of Unstoppable found exclusively at JCPenney stores. When it comes to how this gigantic deal got started, JCPenney chief marketing officer Mike Boylson recently made a statement that the company has never sponsored a tour before but that "Rascal Flatts and the American Living brand is a perfect fit. They skew toward women, especially younger women, and 80 percent of our purchasers are women. We're trying to get younger women."

Their appeal to women, however, is only part of what has made Rascal Flatts a Nashville dynasty. This soothing country trio has been wowing throngs of listeners (both women and men) with their catchy tunes and country-pop style ever since their inception in 1999, when cousins Jay DeMarcus and Gary LeVox relocated from Columbus, Ohio to Nashville and teamed up with Oklahoma native Joe Don Rooney (who was at the time playing in Chely Wright's band). The trio started playing gigs around Music City and eventually landed a contract with Lyric Street Records, immediately jumping into the studio to record their first album. 2000's Rascal Flatts exploded on the music scene as soon as it was released, sparking a number three position on the country charts and four Top 10 singles including "Prayin' for Daylight," "This Everyday Love," "I'm Movin' On" and "While You Loved Me."

DeMarcus, LeVox and Rooney released their sophomore effort Melt in 2002 to similar acclaim, selling more than a million copies of the album in eight weeks and earning their first number one-charting single with "These Days." Rascal Flatts was a household name by 2004, when the trio dropped their third studio album Feels Like Today. The album easily reached number one on the Billboard 200 and earned the group a Grammy Award for "Bless the Broken Road," which won Best Country Song in 2005. It seemed as if Rascal Flatts was on top of the country music world at this point, and these contemporary country music kings have continued to stay atop the industry, releasing Me and My Gang (2006) and Still Feels Good (2007) to critical acclaim while also selling out tour dates around the country. Rascal Flatts tickets are a hot commodity on the concert front, so get tickets from and watch this incredible trio 'bob that head' live!
